Women in Engineering Week Recap

International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) is an annual celebration that honours the remarkable achievements of women in engineering while promoting gender diversity in STEM. This year, the theme "Make Safety Seen" highlighted the crucial role of women in creating safe working environments.

At Plan Group, we appreciate the invaluable contributions made by women in our industry and actively prioritize the professional growth of all our employees. The safety and well-being of everyone we work with, including our dedicated staff, clients, and contractors, are super important to us. It's thanks to the collective efforts of women in our industry, we can keep up such high safety standards on our sites.

To celebrate this special occasion, the Women's Network (formerly WeLink) hosted a series of three virtual panel discussions in the days leading up to the event. These panels provided an inspiring platform for conversations about the contributions of women in engineering, the progress made toward gender equality, and the challenges they face. By amplifying their voices, the Women's Network aims to inspire future female engineers and foster a more inclusive and innovative industry.

The first panel focused on health and safety, where accomplished female colleagues dedicated to this field shared their experiences and emphasized the importance of prioritizing this critical aspect.

The second panel was a roundtable discussion among women in the construction and engineering industry, exploring their unique experiences, intergenerational differences, and the need for continuous support for women's professional growth. The final panel centred on allyship, featuring colleagues from the Bouygues Group who actively champion and support women in the workplace, aiming to raise awareness and inspire employees to become active allies in promoting gender diversity and equality.

Let us continue working towards a future where gender equality integrates into health and safety practices, women's expertise and perspectives are valued, and every worker feels safe and protected.

Together, we can empower women to break barriers and shape a brighter future in engineering and beyond.
