We're Shaping a Greener Future at the Lawson Centre for Sustainability!

Our team is proudly supporting the design and delivery of the Electrical, Mechanical and Technology infrastructure for a new eco-friendly development in the institutional sector of large construction.

Plan Group is thrilled to be a part of the Graham Construction team that’s delivering the new Lawson Centre for Sustainability at Trinity College. As part of the Living Trinity Campaign, and made possible by generous donations from the community, The Lawson Centre for Sustainability is fundamental to the revitalization of Trinity College's historic campus. Mindful of the community's welfare, this state-of-the-art facility has been purposefully designed to make sustainability principles an integral part of everyday life at Trinity College. Aligning with the institution's Integrated Sustainability Initiative and striving for LEED Platinum Verification, the building will incorporate state-of-the-art sustainable design, enhancing both the historical charm and operational efficiency of the campus' existing buildings. Upon completion, the center will predominantly function as a student residence for Trinity College students, with versatile communal spaces, including mixed-use areas and dining facilities, seminar rooms, faculty offices, and adaptable spaces for events and learning purposes.

Awarded the design-assist partnership for Phase 1 of this project, Plan Group successfully demonstrated our team's value engineering capabilities; working closely with the team led by Graham Construction to deliver solutions that support the actualization of our client's vision. In Phase 2 of the project, we now have the opportunity to actualize the design solutions we brought forward. As such, we will be onsite delivering an intuitive Building Automation System (BAS), installing energy-efficient lighting & controls, and integrating the building's geothermal mechanical system. We are proud to have an influential role in helping the Lawson Centre for Sustainability achieve LEED Platinum and meet the Canadian Green Building Council Zero Carbon Building Standards.

Congratulations to all those involved in supporting this innovative and forward-looking project. We're honoured to take part in helping Graham Construction, Trinity College and the University of Toronto bring another eco-conscious institutional facility to life!
